God created - What did God create?

Good Morning,
It is early in the morning and God has awakened me and for that I am glad. I rejoice because he gave me life.  I rejoice because I am important to him.

The purpose of this study is to help us identify some deeper thoughts on the "Word of God".
I was told by a christian I needed only the faith of a mustard seed. It was affirmed in the Word of God.

Matt 17:20-21
20 So Jesus said to them, "Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
21 However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting."
NKJV

I am not here to move Mount Everest. I am here to speak of our true mountains - It is not a physical nor practical mountain. One true mountain that was revealed to me long ago was in the very translations of God's Word. God's Word works - even in these translations however - is there something we miss? We today are going to look into the translation of Genesis 1:1.

We will do this in most studies - or looking into the Word - I pray for guidance and for my eyes to see with not my wisdom but His - The very creator. Give me your heart oh Lord and rest in soul your Love. Bless in my mind your wisdom, your understanding, your knowledge so my heart becomes yours. My thoughts become your actions in my life.  Amen.

Why did I chose Genesis 1:1 today?

I was told that if I have the faith of a mustard seed . . . I could move mountains.  I believe sincerely that the only leap of faith we have to make in finding all truths is innitially believing "God created". We as man were not there, our mortal abilities both make us wonder, guess, and question creation - a creator and so forth and so on. I am not to debate other faiths - I am  to validate mine. If we accept that God created - then everything else in our faith can be validated and proven as truth.  So to me the initial step from non-believer to believer is accepting "God created".

I was not there at the beginning of time - nor was any one else. I did not see matter form or energy move. I will not debate the how it was created at this moment. We know the fact it is here. Our Bible says God Created - we have to accept that or every word after that we will question and debate.  Can you accept the simple concept that God Created?

Gen 1:1
1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (NKJV)
Taking a look at the first book - the first chapter and the first verse.  This is a very important verse.

  • Genesis - the origin or coming into being of something.
  • Genesis is believed to be written by Moses according to the research. However, the debateable chapter is chapter 1.

The perspective inwhich Genesis Chapter 1 is written is of the First Perspective. Someone who was there, an eye witness to the occassion. It is not written as if being told a story or a dream or a vision.
Throughout the Bible - There are numerous accounts of prophecies. These prophecies even in Moses books (The first 5 books of the Old Testament ), visions and dreams were depicted as such. So it is important to understand that in this first chapter of Genesis - The perspective is written in the view point of an eyewitness. The other accounts we see in chapter 3 of Genesis or in other parts of the scriptures they are worded in other perspectives.

  • In the beginning - The first in place or time, the first in order or rank.

OT:7225
re'shiyth (ray-sheeth'); from the same as OT:7218; the first, in place, time, order or rank (specifically, a firstfruit): KJV - beginning, chief (-est), first (-fruits, part, time), principal thing.
(Biblesoft's New Exhaustive Strong's Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Copyright (c) 1994, Biblesoft and International Bible Translators, Inc.)

  • God

OT:430
'elohiym (el-o-heem'); plural of OT:433; gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus, especially with the article) of the supreme God; occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative:
KJV - angels, X exceeding, God (gods)- dess, -ly), X (very) great, judges, X mighty.
(Biblesoft's New Exhaustive Strong's Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Copyright (c) 1994, Biblesoft and International Bible Translators, Inc.)
Again we see a standard of writing that is very questionable. When we dig into the meanings of the word God in Genesis 1:1. The definition is specifically used in the plural sense. So we could add an "S" to the end of God.

  • created

OT:1254
bara' (baw-raw'); a primitive root; (absolutely) to create; (qualified) to cut down (a wood), select, feed (as formative processes): -choose, create (creator), cut down, dispatch, do, make (fat).
(Biblesoft's New Exhaustive Strong's Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Copyright (c) 1994, Biblesoft and International Bible Translators, Inc.)
"Created"  - the word bara - this is interesting in the spotlight because the actual word is not in past tense. It is in the present tense. This which is deceiving to the reader tells us it was already created when the true root of the definition tells us that it is in the works.
So I could write Genesis 1:1 as: In The first place of time, Gods creates . . .
I can see where in translations they changed slightly to help make the scripture more understanding. This is also clear as to why over time so many other translations have been created of the Bible.

  • The Heaven

OT:8064
shamayim (shaw-mah'-yim); dual of an unused singular shameh (shaw-meh'); from an unused root meaning to be lofty; the sky (as aloft; the dual perhaps alluding to the visible arch in which the clouds move, as well as to the higher ether where the celestial bodies revolve):
KJV - air, X astrologer, heaven (-s).
(Biblesoft's New Exhaustive Strong's Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Copyright (c) 1994, Biblesoft and International Bible Translators, Inc.)
Again we are translated to make a better understanding in the translation from the Greek into English. Here we see that the Greek work is actually plural. So it should be properly translated into "Heavens".

  • And

OT:853
'eth (ayth); apparent contracted from OT:226 in the demonstrative sense of entity; properly self, (but generally used to point out more definitely the object of a verb or preposition, even or namely):
KJV - [as such unrepresented in English].
OT:226
'owth (oth); probably from OT:225 (in the sense of appearing); a signal (literally or figuratively), as a flag, beacon, monument, omen, prodigy, evidence, etc.:
KJV - mark, miracle, (en-) sign, token.
OT:225
'uwth (ooth); a primitive root; properly, to come, i.e. (implied) to assent:
KJV - consent.
(Biblesoft's New Exhaustive Strong's Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Copyright (c) 1994, Biblesoft and International Bible Translators, Inc.)
The word "and"  suddenly became confusing. The word was referenced back through 2 other Greek words in the Greek language. One that means beacon and the second is to come.

  • the earth

OT:776
'erets (eh'-rets); from an unused root probably meaning to be firm; the earth (at large, or partitively a land):
KJV - X common, country, earth, field, ground, land, X natins, way, + wilderness, world.
(Biblesoft's New Exhaustive Strong's Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Copyright (c) 1994, Biblesoft and International Bible Translators, Inc.)

The word used in Genesis is much simpler than the word "and". It is land (firm) the earth.
So after doing the Greek word research on Genesis 1:1 It could possibly be read :

In The first place of time, Gods creates heavens mark, miracle, (en-) sign, token to come to the earth.

To clear things up in this research - I am not demanding a change of the scripture and I am not here to rewrite or change the Word of God.  I am only pointing out the translation in differences that are given here in Genesis 1:1.

Prov 18:2
A fool has no delight in understanding, (NKJV)

I am bringing out understanding into the scripture.

Genesis 1:1 - In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

It is clear in the translation of Genesis 1:1 that the scholars of the day acknowledged the full story of Genesis chapter 1 as a whole - A complete story of creation. This is why it was translated in the literal terms that is used.

But in the translation - when I looked over the meanings of the words - It has some truths that are foundations of Faith, A story within a story.

Clearly throughout the Bible there is mention of only 1 earth but more than one heaven. Throughout the Bible it is clear in the New Testament of more than one solitary "God" (The Father, The Son, The Holy Spirit). And Lastly - The very beginning of Time - There was a magnificient plan.
The Word - Clearly speaks of man throughout the Bible as being of utmost concern and importance to God.

Gen 1:26
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
KJV

Ps 8:4-6
4 What is man that You are mindful of him,
And the son of man that You visit him?
5 For You have made him a little lower than the angels,
And You have crowned him with glory and honor.
6 You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands;
You have put all things under his feet,
NKJV

Clearly God has purposed man - you are special, you are important, you are of the utmost value to God.

God has a message to every person - and Genesis 1:1 within the translations may have lost some of the technical meanings of What God intended to relate to us. This is as no surprise - that is often done in translations from language to language and more so done from era to era throughout time and language barriers.  I do not believe it was intentional, I do believe that The Word of God (The Bible) has essential elements that answers all questions that we may have in our lives to be his servants. I trust in God and not man. Man errs in his way. We fall short of the goal. So we also need to be diligent in our learning, in our ways, and the ultimate goal is to find that true connection with our Father in Heaven.

In Genesis 1:1 - God tells us that He not only created physically - but created with a detailed plan, with you and me and each and every person on His thoughts. When John wrote:

John 3:16
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
NKJV

God So Loved the World - After studying Genesis 1:1 - It brings more into my life a light that God's love is purposefully designed with intelligence beyond our understanding, beyond comprehension, and beyond time.

So we as believers - whether we take Genesis 1:1 as it is translated or not , Do consider the value of why God created. His very purpose, His very goal of creating was for you.

In order to accept that God created - best way to address this is scientifically - Our 5 senses
Touch, taste, smell, hear, and see.

Obviously - we can touch the creation - we can hear it - we can smell it - we can taste it - we can of coarse see it.

This does not conclude God created - This concludes that there was and is a created substance.
Who? What? When? where? why? and How?

Verse 1 Tells us
Who created - God
God did what - created -
God did it when - Before time
God did it where - Here
God did it why? - His love for me
How - We can go into that later.

There are many theories on creation - but none of the theories that are taught to our children answers any of those basic scientific questions. Big bang Theory - Who created the matters or energies to cause the bang? Evolution - Who created matter? This list goes on into every theory ever published or thought by man. Who created God you might even say.

Finite minds we have - limited within reasons - we are controlled by time - limited with understanding without time - We do not nor can we fathom in full comprehension the very thought of no time - We live an average of 80 years - This is to say within a time period. Our life is our mark in time. Our birth is the start of our time. Our death is our end in time. We understand those concepts. We do not know before that time unless we take it from a source - Our father, family, history books, etc. We do not know after that because it has not yet come into existence within our realms of reality.

  • The before our time according to the bible is God -
  • The time after our time is God according to the bible -
  • The only certainty we know is right now our life span.

Was there a Boston Tea Party? I was not there - so it does not exists - Sure in history I read about a Boston Tea Party.  That does not make it fact - Just as sure as Moby Dick may or may not be a real whale. We obtain things - thoughts, opinions, and writings, and truths. We secure some as facts and others - well maybe or maybe not. So how do we obtain facts to be facts - We simply accept them because of the evidence of. That evidence however can be tainted in different ways. Point of views, dates and timeframes, language reiterations, and even interpretations.

To Accept there is a God - A creation is here - at this moment - at this time - Therefore it did not just show up. Science tells me you need something to create something. It is that simple. So to believe in God - (a supernatural force or entity) - Is the concept of accepting something beyond my understanding created the heavens and the earth because the evidence is here that they exist right now. Who - or what created I am not sure at this point and time. If you have any other explanation that meets basic reasoning standards for the creation then I will listen. Darwin (Evolution) - shudders the very fact that we came by chance. It does not answer where the very matter came from. It utters that we evolved from lesser organisms that evolved into more complex organisms.  Which in itself defies any scientific approach.

Energies - are needed in order to accomplish anything - Electricity in order to create light - Gravity in order to create running water - Scientifically it is a fact the world is not building up - it is breaking down. That defies the evolution theory. Gravity is breaking down, the earths rotation is slowing down, the sun is burning out, the ozone is deteriorating, garbage disposes into the ground and returns to dust unless it is artificially made (which takes a lot more time). We get older our bodies break down -

The final note on the theories - until someone can show me something natural that does not die but evolves into a more complex organism - I will have my doubts. If you want to believe in evolution, that is your choice - but it just does not make common sense.

Not only does the Very concept of God make sense - It sets morals - gives meaning - gives hope - gives everlasting peace - These things there are no laws. It simply makes us better human beings.

God created - Makes more logical sense. It answers the basic desire to do better in ones life. It gives our lives a meaning, a purpose. It gives us intellectual intelligence into ourselves as humans. It answers the simple questions of the complexities of feelings, emotions, and even instinctive actions and behaviors. It places a secure foundation under our feet in this world of chaos and confusion.

To sum today up - Believing in God is the start to a successful life. You do not need a sure answer of what or who God is except He is the Beginning and the End. Before Time and after Time as you know it. The rest of it is in the Bible - Gods Word for us. Not a guide book, not a book of do's and do not's but His Word to us. Which tells me all the other questions I have He has answered in His Word to me. Why? Because He loves me.  That in itself is beyond my comprehension. Billions of people - 1 God - Who loves us all that we are called Heirs to the Throne.

God Bless and Keep you in these trying times.
